August 2
“Lughnasa Celebration”
by Sarah “Birch” Paulus.
Traditionally celebrated on the first of August, Lughnasa is the fourth and last of the Feast days of the Celtic year. The harvest festival named after the Celtic God Lugh. God of the sun, light and harvests, Lugh was a great warrior. Lugh is always portrayed as youthful, handsome and athletic.
Sarah "Birch" Paulus will enlighten us more on this celebration.

“Truth and Other Options”

We say as UUs that we are engaged in “a free and responsible search for truth and meaning,” but what can that mean in a time when Truth is not respected? Can it be that soon having reached absurdity truth will make a comeback?
Yes, but not as we understood it in the past.

we will consider what is meaningful or how to find meaning in what must be done anyway.

“Buddhist Wisdom”

Our own Jerry Waltz will give a moving service on what the wisdom of Buddhism has meant to him and how we can all use a little more of that energy right now
